Vandy French Onion is a complex flavor with fewer ingredients than seem possible: toasted onions, organic potatoes, purple shallots, and a crack of black pepper give the sophisticated flavor of an Alpine onion soup, but with an irresistible “junk food” finish. All bags are 5oz.
Indulge in the rich flavors of a home-cooked French meal with Vandy Herbes de Provence. These decadent, tallow-cooked organic potato chips are expertly seasoned with a classic spice blend from Southern France, featuring aromatic, naturally grown herbs like rosemary, oregano, and thyme.
The great American snack meets the most iconic American seasoning. Vandy Smokehouse BBQ is our take on the bold, smoky flavors of Carolina and Texas barbecue—made only with real ingredients. Smoked pimenton paprika from Spain, organic chipotle chiles and potatoes, and tomato powder deliver deep barbecue richness.
Vandy Crisps are the first true potato chips you’ll ever taste-- made exactly the way they used to be over a hundred years ago, when this Great American Snack was born. They are handmade in small batches with only three ingredients : naturally grown potatoes without CIPC*, grass fed beef tallow, and sea salt.
Can’t decide? Get all four flavors in one box. 6-Pack: 3 Original, 1 Herbes de Provence, 1 Smokehouse BBQ, 1 French Onion 12-Pack: 3 of each flavor 20-Pack: 5 of each flavor Crispy, bold, and seed oil-free. Every bite delivers big flavor.
Costco really does sell the same stuff at much lower prices than anywhere else. How?
Having finally launched Masa chips at Costco, I have some insight into this question. There are three reasons:
1. They take less margin than any other retailer. It varies by store and category, but most retail stores markup products 30-50%. Costco very famously takes only 14%. So right there, you're paying a lot less money to the *retailer* for the same exact product. This is the biggest reason
2. Emphasis on larger items/multipacks. Everyone knows that a bigger item has a lower unit cost. That's what they optimize for, so they buy larger items from their suppliers. Masa bags are more than 2x as big at Costco than anywhere else, for this reason.
3. Sourcing in bulk. Costco moves so much stuff (8% of American groceries, ignoring other categories), they can buy a ton from their suppliers at one time, which results in cheaper per unit freight, better economies of scale, etc. We've never shipped entirely full truckloads of finished product to one retailer before, until Costco.
And all this without buying lower quality items than any other competitive store.
While a health oriented customer might not be interested in everything they have for sale (just like at any other store), there is now one more reason to get a membership there.
