  • Nobody should have to choose between food that's healthy and food that's convenient. At Central Coast Live Foods, we're bridging that gap. We started out as a cold-pressed juice company, and we were exactly what I just described. We made a fresh juice that expired in a few days. It was a great product, but not the ultimate vehicle. After many experiments in our kitchen, we came up with something different: Kraut Krackers. Kraut Krackers aren't like anything else on the shelf. Most crackers start with flour or grains. Ours start with organic vegetables. They're made using fermentation and dehydration, which humans have been using for thousands of years. That's how we were able to make a product without compromising on ingredients, or taste. Our mission from the start was to make real food products (Real food, before products). We use whole plants with medicinal, healing properties. Food that doesn't require you to choose between convenience and quality. That's the gap we bridge, and the mission we will never compromise on.

  • We're committed to sourcing the highest quality ingredients possible. That's why Kraut Krackers and Trail Salad are now made Baja Gold Sea Salt. Here's why we made the change: 1. Sea of Cortez Sourced Baja Gold Sea Salt is harvested from a remote, inland lagoon located in a pristine estuary at the northern end of the Sea of Cortez in Baja California, Mexico. The area boasts an exceptionally high concentration of minerals and trace elements 2. Unrefined + Solar-Dried Baja Gold is produced by evaporating seawater through natural sunlight and wind. This is an eco-friendly process which relies on renewable solar energy rather than heavy mechanical mining or fossil-fuel boiling. 3. Naturally Mineral Rich Baja Gold mineral sea salt contains over 90 natural minerals and trace elements. It’s 75-80% sodium chloride and the rest is made up of valuable minerals including potassium, magnesium, and calcium, zinc, boron, manganese, molybdenum, and more. 4. Third Party Tested Baja Gold undergoes regular third-party laboratory testing by the manufacturer for mineral composition and heavy metals. Testing is also conducted to ensure the water source in the Sea of Cortez remains unaffected by nearby human activity. Even though our salt changed, everything else about our products remained the same. - Same wild fermentation process - Same organic whole-plant ingredients - Same delicious crunch Try our upgraded crackers now at http://centralcoastlivefoods.com

  • I’ve been testing out @krautkrackers the past few weeks. Here are my thoughts: If you pressured me, I’d wager about 50% of people genuinely enjoy the taste at first impression. They are sour. But, I’m not sure that matters much, and here’s why: 1) The flavor grows on you. 2) The cracker is physically substantial— dense with a good weight in-hand. 3) The crunch is delightful. 4) Good for scooping. They go GREAT with guac. It mellows out the sour-ness. 5) The color is beautiful. 6) Unique. Not even sure these should be called crackers…it’s a whole new category. And they lean into it. You have no choice but to respect Kraut Krackers. Worth a shot even if you don’t like fermented foods, just for the experience. @breallstrong found a nice little niche. Healthy, provocative and polarizing (a good thing). I’m also excited to try his new product, Trail Salad, which appears to be close to launch. Smart move. I think it’ll be a perfect complement to the OG Kraut (but the OG had to come first!).
